The day Amber graduated from high school was a day just like any other day, or so I thought. The boring speeches with the obligatory posed pictures on the football field. As a teacher, I had been to lots of graduations. But later that day as I was driving down Chipeta Drive it hit me like a rock upside my head. My bestest buddy that I had done everything with since she was two years old was grown up and would be moving on. It hit me hard enough that I pulled over to the side of the road and cried. The only time (until Lee later) that one of my children made me cry. I hate change, and now everything had changed. I wrote this song shortly after.
