Most of my songs are not sad. I wrote this one when I played in a mediocre band. A lot of the songs we played were songs that members of the band had written. They weren't good, but they all gave me hard time because I had never written a song. So this is the first song I ever wrote. As always I play all the guitars even though I had no idea how to play lead guitar. Picture is Crazy Lonnie, Willie, Lee, and me playing for Eric's wedding reception in our back yard.

Amber's Song
The day Amber graduated from high school was a day just like any other day, or so I thought. The boring speeches with the obligatory posed pictures on the football field. As a teacher, I had been to lots of graduations. But later that day as I was driving down Chipeta Drive it hit me like a rock upside my head. My bestest buddy that I had done everything with since she was two years old was grown up and would be moving on. It hit me hard enough that I pulled over to the side of the road and cried. The only time (until Lee later) that one of my children made me cry. I hate change, and now everything had changed. I wrote this song shortly after.
